Competency requirements

When Statement of Attainment is uploaded:

• RTO Name, National Provider Code / RTO Number & Logo to be displayed on document
• Name on certificate to match the name in the system (shortened versions accepted, e.g.. 'Chris' accepted for Christopher)
• completion date or issue date must be displayed
• Unit of competency listed on certificate to match the nominated unit within RIW
• Name and / or signature of issuer
• Document / Certificate / Statement of Attainment Number
• Nationally Recognised Training logo
• No expiry

Transcript (Accepted in lieu of SOA) is uploaded:

• RTO Name & Logo to be displayed on document
• Name on transcript / statement of results / Academic history report to match the name in the system (shortened versions accepted, e.g. 'Chris' accepted for Christopher)
• completion date or issue date must be displayed
• Unit of competency listed on document to match the nominated unit within RIW
• If individual unit results are displayed, the result needs to indicate completion / pass result. Grading categories can be referenced HERE
• No expiry

Licence

• Name on Licence / card to match the person registered
• Class / Code LE to be listed or show indication of a statement of attainment unit of competency with corresponding coding
• Issue date to be recorded as per licence
• Black and white or colour copy acceptable
• If a card is uploaded, both sides are required to be shown within the uploaded file
• Needs to be issued by a training company with ABN but Does NOT need to be issued by Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
• Verification of competency's (VOC's) cannot be accepted for this upload
• An 'Assessment Summary' showing the relevant coding may be accepted for the temporary length of time nominated on this summary document as an 'interim document' until the statement of attainment or card / licence has been issued.
• NOTE: Conduct Hydraulic Excavator Operations is not accepted for this competency
• Letter from SafeWork NSW (as shown below) also accepted. 
• Can be loaded provided it displays the RIW cardholders name and has the code LZ displayed.

As of 24/08/2022: NOHSC licences will no longer be accepted as evidence and should be uploaded to the equivalent NOHSC licence competency instead.

Upload requirements

• Record the Issue date within RIW:
  • Completion date – if listed on certificate (this completion date is always used when displayed)
  • Issue date – If only an issue date is listed, please enter this as the issue date

When Transcript (Accepted in lieu of SOA) is uploaded:

• Document verifier to ensure the Issue of this document is an RTO.
• Record the Issue date within RIW
  • Completion date – if listed on certificate (this completion date is always used when displayed)
  • Issue date – If only an issue date is listed, please enter this as the issue date
  • If there is a 'from' and a 'to completion date shown, indicating the course was complete over a time frame longer than 1 day, use the 'to' date as the issue date within
