Competency requirements

  • Applicants' name is to be displayed on the document.
  • Applicant's name on the document is required to match the applicant's registered cardholder name
  • A Statement of Attendance or Certificate of Completion is to be uploaded to this competency.
  • TfNSW accepts the following evidence for this competency:
    – TfNSW-issued Statement of Attendance which is to identify "Protection Officer Recertification Practical Assessment".
    – Certificate of Completion stating "Protection Officer Recertification Practical Assessment"
  • Previous Statements of Certification, issued by TfNSW that identified you had a current and valid gold card for this role are not to be used.

  • The expiry date for this competency will be set at 2yrs from the completed date identified on the Statement of Attendance.

From 1 January 2023, this competency must be awarded to the Rail Industry Worker profile using one of the following methods :

  • Directly awarded by the RTO who delivered the training, or
  • Added by a company if the certificate has back-to-source verification, such as a QR code. Please check the accepted evidence below for an example.

  • Note: TFNSW do not accept 'higher level' qualifications for TFNSW roles and competencies.
