The role of Around The Track Personnel (Construction/Maintenance) - National should be allocated for workers undertaking rail safety work within a rail construction zone in the rail corridor. This role is used for the following types of workers in the rail corridor: graffiti removal, general civil labouring/maintenance activities outside the danger zone (equivalent to the general civil construction labourer); apprentices and/or trainees; engineers and/or project managers etc. required to access the rail corridor (they must also hold the relevant Engineering/Project Managers RIW role); surveyors, tractor operators, truck drivers, and water cart operators

Workers with the Track Certifier - National role must be able to identify and measure both the scope of work and quality of track construction work. The role requires the knowledge and skills to identify the relevant construction specifications and to determine whether the track meets those specifications and standards.
