  • Name on interim certificate to match the applicants registered name in RIW
  • All supervisors will complete their training supervisor course training however they will also then have 6 months to complete the following training modules: To be issued by the relevant authority
  • Black and white or colour copies accepted

Certificate.Sydney Metro Workforce Development Survey (82254)

From 1 January 2023, this competency must be awarded to the Rail Industry Worker profile using one of the following methods :

  • Directly awarded by the RTO who delivered the training, or
  • Added by a company if the certificate has back-to-source verification, such as a QR code. Please check the accepted evidence below for an example.

Induction.Sydney Metro Cultural Awareness Training (82007)


Competency requirements

  • Any form of evidence to demonstrate that a person has competed “Cultural Awareness training” can be accepted. (The below example is one of the forms that is accepted, others may be with a different organisation header and different format, but the course must say Cultural Awareness Training.)
  • A “Foundation in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Competence” certificate from the Centre of Cultural Competence Australia is also accepted
  • Name on induction paperwork to match the applicants registered name in RIW
  • Cultural Awareness Training to be listed
  • Black and white or colour copies accepted

Induction.Sydney Metro Orientation Training (SMOT) (82009)

Competency requirements

When a Sydney Metro Participant results record sheet (issued by Tafe) is uploaded:

  • Applicants name must be shown on paperwork
  • Black and white or colour copies accepted
  • This can be accepted as evidence of having completion this orientation (despite not clearly stating Sydney Metro Orientation Training) as all attendees who have received this results sheet have already complete the orientation training prior to being issued with this.
  • Course information in the first section of the form must be completed in full (minimum of one trainer/assessor name to be stated)
  • Worker details in second section - USI number, Employer, Signature and if they have been deemed Competent (anyone deemed Not Yet Competent should not be approved)
  • Last section of form is to have a trainer name and signature at the bottom of the page
  • If the Tafe issued SOA is uploaded with the specified units on competency then this will also be accepted
  • Lendlease issued Statement of Completion showing SMOT is also accepted

When a SMOT Daily Attendance Record sheet is uploaded:

  • Applicants name must be shown on paperwork
  • Black and white or colour copies accepted
When a Laing O’Rourke Statement of Completion is uploaded:
  • Applicants name must be shown
  • Completed date must be shown
  • Has attained Central Project Induction Sydney Metro Orientation Training
  • Black and white or colour copies accepted

NOTE: SMIC form without Unique Student Identifier listed can be accepted.

Upload requirements

  • Photo of the form can be accepted in lieu of actual scanned copy providing all information can still be clearly seen
  • Issue date = Date of completion / end date for training displayed on the induction paperwork
  • Start date can be used as issue date where there is no end date
