Certificate of Currency.MTM - Track Vehicle Operator - 1 (46517)

From 1 January 2023, this competency must be awarded to the Rail Industry Worker profile using one of the following methods :

  • Directly awarded by the RTO who delivered the training, or
  • Added by a company if the certificate has back-to-source verification, such as a QR code. Please check the accepted evidence below for an example.

Competency requirements      

  • Applicants name to be displayed on the document.
  • Applicants name on document must match the cardholders registered name (however shortened versions such as 'Chris' for 'Christopher' will be accepted).
  • Must be issued by an MTM approved training provider:
  • Metro Academy.
  • Training Ahead Australia. (See Note 1)
  • Australian Testing Services. (See Note 2)
  • John Holland Group/Accell. (See Note 3)
  • Acceptable certificates for this competency are as follows: 
  • Statement of Attainment listing completion of the following units: (See Note 4)
  • TLIC2054 Access rail track to run track vehicle within define worksite.
  • TLIC3045 Operate road/rail vehicle. 
  • Certificate of Completion: Track Vehicle Operator (TVO1) Renewal.
  • Certificate of Completion: Track Vehicle Operator (TVO1) MTM Upgrade. (See Note 5)
  • Certificate of Completion: Track Vehicle Operator (TVO1) MTM Conversion. . 

Note 1: Training Ahead Australia certificates issued from 04/01/2019 onwards are accepted. Certificates issued between 25/07/2021 and 12/08/2021 are not accepted.

Note 2: Australian Testing Services certificates issued from 23/08/2021 onwards are accepted. 

Note 3: John Holland Group certificates issued from 10/01/2022 onwards are accepted, and without requiring a Statement of Attainment.

Note 4: Statement of Attainment MUST be accompanied by either a Certificate of Completion or a Certificate of Achievement for Metro Track Vehicle Operator 1.

Note 5: MTM Upgrade certificates issued from 21/01/2021 onwards are accepted.

Applicants will need to submit the relevant job role for assessment to allow this competency application to be sent to MTM. A step-by-step guide for this process can be found here.

  • Applicant's name must be shown on the document
  • Applicant's name on the document to match applicants name in RIW (However, shortened first names such as 'Chris' for 'Christopher' are accepted)
  • Letter must state application for MTM - Track Vehicle Registration Assessor - Path 1
  • Letter must have the Registration Number
  • Letter must be signed by the Head of Engineering Rollingstock – Adam Anderson. 
  • Applicants should click 'Apply for Assessment' for this competency which will allow this application to be sent to MTM For assessment.
