Competency Requirements 

• Applicant’s name must be shown on the documentation.
• Applicant’s name must match (shortened versions, e.g. Chris for Christopher, are acceptable).
• Recognised Training Institution name must be displayed on the document.
• A copy of the certificate, degree or transcript is required. Letters are not accepted.
• Document/certificate number must be included.
• Completion date or issue date must be displayed. 
• The following qualifications can be accepted without confirmation from MTM:
  1. Certificate IV in Electrical – Rail Signalling (UEE41206, UEE41207, UEE41210, UEE41211, UEE41220, UEE41223)
  2. Diploma of Electrical Engineering (UEE50407, UEE50410, UEE50411, UEE50420)
  3. Diploma of ESI – Power Systems (UET50106, UET50109, UET50212, UET50221)
  4. Diploma of Electrical Systems Engineering (UEE53020)
  5. Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology – Electrical (UEE62111)
  6. Advanced Diploma of Electrical Engineering / Electrical Systems Engineering / ESI Power Systems (UEE62220, UEE63020, UET60222, 52726WA, 52883WA)
  7. Electrical Licence
  8. Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Telecommunications, Control Systems, Electrical & Computer Systems, Information Technology)
  9. Bachelor of Science or Technology (Engineering-related)
  10. Cert IV Rail & Tram Signal Systems (21730VIC)
  11. Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in Railway Signalling (22326VIC, 22327VIC, 22593VIC, 22596VIC, 10780NAT, 11262NAT)
  12. Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in Signalling & Telecommunications
  13. PTC Signal Maintenance Technician Course (Certificate)
• Applicants currently undertaking a listed qualification must upload proof from the Registered Training Organisation showing formal training has commenced. 
• All other submissions, including IRSE qualifications and Non-Washington Accord Degrees, must be forwarded to competencies@metrotrains.com.au prior to verification. Evidence must be accepted by MTM in order for it to be verified.
