Job Role: SA Rail Commissioner - Operator
| Role Description The SA Rail Commissioner - Operator job role is a mandatory requirement for all RIW cardholders who conduct work on the Adelaide Metropolitan Passenger Rail Network - Train and Tram. It is to be selected along with the relevant national role aligned to the work the person is undertaking. For example, SA Rail Commissioner - Operator is selected with the Rail Labourer National role if this is the work being undertaken by the person. This role is included in the National Operator Roles Matrix. |

| Competency Requirements Competency requirements of the SA Rail Commissioner Operator role are:
Note 1: Rail Safety Workers (workers) who currently hold ORI will be required to obtain Safely Access the Rail Corridor (SARC) unit of competency by 17 May 2026.
Please note that after 17 May 2026, workers who do not hold SARC will not be able to access the Adelaide Metropolitan Passenger Rail Network - Train and Tram.
Any workers who do not hold Torrens Connect ORI competency or SARC before 17 November 2025 will be required to obtain SARC.
Note 2: For the ELearning requirement the SA Rail Commissioner will recognise AMPRN Rail Safety Inductions (ELearning) and Torrens Connect ORIs completed prior to 17 November 2025 as equivalent competencies and will continue to accept these competencies until expiry. After expiry, all workers must complete the SA Rail Commissioner Rail Safety Induction.
The SA Rail Commissioner Rail Safety Induction will be delivered via ELearning within the RIW System for all contractors. AMPRN Rail Safety Inductions and Torrens Connect ORIs completed after 17 November 2025 will not be recognised and workers will be required to complete the updated SA Rail Commissioner Rail Safety Induction (ELearning) to meet the requirements of the SA Rail Commissioner Operator role. SA Rail Commissioner Operator role All workers requiring access to the AMPRN – Train and Tram, will be required to hold the SA Rail Commissioner Operator role in the RIW by 17 November 2025.
AMPRN and Torrens Connect Operator roles will not be accepted for entering the AMPRN effective 17 November 2025. Must have at least one of the following:
