Competency Requirements 

• ​​The applicant’s name must match the name in RIW (shortened first names, such as 'Chris' for 'Christopher,' are accepted).
• Recognised Training Institution name must be displayed on the document.
• A certified copy of the certificate, qualification, statement of attainment or transcript is required. Letters are not accepted.
• Document/certificate number must be included where applicable.
• Completion date or issue date must be displayed.
• The following non-current qualifications may be accepted: 
  • ​​21730VIC Certificate IV in Rail and Tram Signal Systems
  • UTE40499 Certificate IV in Electrotechnology – Computer Systems (Specialisation in Control)
  • PTC Signal Maintenance Technician Course
• ​​For new applications, acceptance of the above non-current qualifications requires approval from the Head of Engineering - Signalling.
