Competency requirements

• Applicant name must match the name in RIW, shortened names are acceptable Chris for Christopher etc.
• Upload either a certificate of achievement, certificate of competency or a statement of attainment showing completion of ‘Test Rail using ultrasonic testing equipment (Or similar - Can be different wording used depending on issuer)
• Document must be issued by a registered training organisation (RTO) or in accordance with practices detailed in the American Society for Non-Destructive Testing SNT-TC-1A 2001 or the Australian Standard AS 1085.20 (tester of rail welds to hold a minimum of AS 3998 / ISO9712 certification)
• Certificate issued by Australian Institute for non-destructive testing (AINDT) under IOS 9712 showing Ultrasonic Testing is accepted (5-year expiry as per indicated on the certificate)
• Black and white OR colour copy of this document is accepted.
• The Statement of Attainment issued for this competency must list the following:
  • TLIS3010 Test rail using ultrasonic equipment.
  • TLI3011 Test rail using non-destructive testing equipment.
• A Statement of Attainment can be used for the first time so long as it was achieved in the last five years from the date of issue, otherwise, recertification is required to identify you retain the relevant knowledge for the role.

Upload requirements

• Issue date to be recorded as the date the training was complete.
• The expiry will be 5 years from the date of completion.
