Competency Requirements

• The name must match the name in the RIW
• Shortened names are acceptable Chris for Christopher etc
• Certificate of Completion issued by Metro Trains Melbourne – Metro Academy.
• Certificate of completion must state:
  • Instructed Person (Substation Familiarisation) - certificates issued before 28/11/2024
  • Substation Familiarisation - certificates issued from 28/11/2024 onwards
• The certificate must be dated.
• This competency will be directly uploaded by Metro Trains Melbourne.
• On completion of this training: Workers must have a Metro Trains Melbourne RIW association and a valid "MTM - Substation Familiarised" job role on their RIW profile, as only these roles are added to the HV database, which is required for substation access.
