Certificate of Currency.V/line - Track Protection - Handsignaller (Level 2:2) (47189)

From 1 January 2023, this competency must be awarded to the Rail Industry Worker profile using one of the following methods :

  • Directly awarded by the RTO who delivered the training, or
  • Added by a company if the certificate has back-to-source verification, such as a QR code. Please check the accepted evidence below for an example.

Competency requirements

  • Applicants name must be shown on the document and must match the applicants name as it is registered in the system.
  • A statement of attainment showing all mandatory units within the course, some selected mandatory units within this course (ONLY when the unit combination is detailed acceptable in the equivalent MTM business rule**) OR a certificate of achievement / certificate of completion can be uploaded for this competency.
  • Where a Certificate of Achievement is awarded it must show completion of 'V/Line Handsignaller (2:2)'.
  • Please visit the Statement of Attainment Business Rule for additional statement of attainment business rule requirements.
  • The statement of attainment must show all mandatory units of competency that are required as shown within the V/Line - Track Protection - Handsignaller (Level 2.2) course requirements listed on the V/Line Safeworking Matrix.  The V/Line safeworking matrix can be found on the V/Line website.
  • Black & white or colour copy of the document is acceptable.
  • Document must be clear / legible
  • V/line TFPC 3.2 and 3.3 can be accepted in place of Handsignaller. 
  • The following certificates from Metro Academy are accepted:
    • Certificate of Completion - Handsignaller Renewal.
    • Certificate of Completion – Handsignaller MTM Conversion
    • Certificate of Completion – TFPC 3.2 Renewal
    • Certificate of Completion – TFPC 3.3 Renewal

13/04/2021 - Effective 14/04/2021 (inclusive) MTM Certificate of Currency is NOT acceptable evidence as currency

21/12/2023 - No certificate of currency will be accepted from CERT or TIC effective 22/12/2023 (inclusive) until further notice

05/06/2024 - Certificate of Currency from Centre for Excellence in Rail Training (CERT) can be accepted if issued from 05/06/2024.

19/01/2024 - Certificate of Currency can be accepted from Training Ahead Australia

01/10/2024 - Certificate of Currency can be accepted from Metro Academy

Upload requirements

  • Date of assessment / date of completion shown on certificate must be entered as the issue date within RIW.
  • Enter the expiration as a date 2 years form the issue date.
