MTM - Safely Working in the Rail Corridor (SWIRC) (91006)

Competency requirements

Updated 07/08/2020 – acceptance of cards showing unit TLIF2080 and Metro Track Protection cards                        

  • Applicants name must be shown on the document.
  • Applicants name on document to match applicants name in RIW (However, shortened first names such as 'Chris' for 'Christopher' are accepted.
  • Safely Working in the Rail Corridor (SWIRC) Certificate of completion is required to be uploaded.
  • Only documentation issued by Metro Academy will be accepted. Available for viewing by clicking on green example document icon.
  • Black and white or colour can be accepted.
  • “Skilled Cards” are also accepted.
    • Must contain Train Track Safety Awareness – Level 1
  • A statement of attainment for TLIF2080 is accepted under this competency for certificates issued prior to 1/09/2019. The certificate must state unit code of TLIF2080 Safely Access the Rail Corridor.
  • Connex issued card as show in the acceptable examples below
  • Cards issued prior to 01/09/2019 are accepted in lieu of statement of attainment. Must show TLIF2080 unit. Previous unit codes accepted.
  • Metro Track Protection Cards are also accepted if they show any of the below roles:
    • Train Track Safety Awareness
    • Lookout
    • Track Force Protection Coordinator 3.1
    • Track Force Protection Coordinator 3.2
    • Track Force Protection Coordinator 3.3

NOTE: Both sides of the Metro Track Protection Card must be uploaded. Award date = date of upload.  

  • As of the 1st of July 2022, this competency was made inactive. Please upload the full certification to Qualified.MTM - Safely Working in the Rail Corridor (91006) in line with MTM requirements.
