MTM - Safely Working in the Rail Corridor (SWIRC) (91006)


Competency requirements

  •  Applicants name to be displayed on the document.
  • Applicants name on document must match the cardholders registered name (however shortened versions such as 'Chris' for 'Christopher' will be accepted).
  • Certificate must be issued by Metro Academy.
  • Certificate must show completion of Safely Working in the Rail Corridor (SWIRC).



The below evidence is accepted if dated prior to 01/09/2019.

  • Statement of Attainment for TLIF2080 Safely Access the Rail Corridor.
  • Metro Academy issued certificate showing completion of any of the following renewals:
    • Train Track Safety Awareness
    • Lookout
    • Handsignaller
    • Track Force Protection Coordinator (any level)
  • Cards with TLIF2080 or equivalent unit codes  
    • Connex Cards
    • Skilled Cards stating Train Track Safety Awareness – Level 1.
    • John Holland Rail Track Safety Awareness Card
  • Metro Trains Track Protection Cards (both sides must be uploaded and show one of the following roles with an expiry date before 01/09/2021):

    • Train Track Safety Awareness

    • Lookout

    • Handsignaller

    • Track Force Protection Coordinator (any level)

Upload requirements

  • Award Date = Date of Completion (Certificates)
  • Award Date = Upload Date (Cards)
  • No Expiry
