Certificate of Currency.ARTC - Apply electric welding process to rail (44453)

From 1 January 2023, this competency must be awarded to the Rail Industry Worker profile using one of the following methods :

  • Directly awarded by the RTO who delivered the training, or
  • Added by a company if the certificate has back-to-source verification, such as a QR code. Please check the accepted evidence below for an example.

Competency requirements

  • Name on the document to match the registered person in RIW, shortened names are permitted e.g.: Chris for Christopher
  • Certificate must be either a Certificate of Achievement or currency for 'Apply Electric welding process to rail' or a Statement of Attainment for 'TLIW0036 Apply Electric welding process to rail'.
  • Document must be issued by a registered training organisation (RTO) with this unit on their deliverable scope.
  • A Statement of Attainment can be used for the first time so long as it was achieved in the last two years, otherwise, recertification is required to identify you retain the relevant knowledge for the role.
  • The following AQF national qualifications must also be held in RIW to show initial training pathway.
    • TLIW0004 Grind Rails
    • TLIW0036 Apply electric welding process to rail. 
    • TLIW0006 Heat and cut materials using oxy-LPG equipment for the rail industry.
  • Certificate issued by Centre for Excellence in Rail Training (CERT) (RTO: 51333) is not accepted if issued on or after 11/04/2024
